Caleb Peck continued his hot hitting going 2 for 4 with a double, and driving in three runs. Dylan Anthony collected three hits, scored a run, and drove in a run, both leading the Liberty Union Lions to a cross league 5-3 win over the Grandview Bobcats.
The Lions scored four runs in the first two innings, three of those driven home by Peck. His first inning double scored Brody Poston who led the game off by walking. In the second, Peck singled with two outs and the bases loaded to score Noah Graf and Reed Farmer.
Jacob Berlekamp got the start, pitching four innings, allowing four hits and three runs. He walked three and struck out four. Two of those four hits, and one walk came in a three run Bobcats third inninng. The first three batters reached to load the bases. What looked to be a double play was not to be when the first throw to second was high but the relay to first was on time to make it a 4-1 game. A wild pitch scored the second run, and a sacrifice fly made it 4-3. In the fifth inning Nick Congrove walked but was cut down stealing second. Lucas Slone doubled off the fence in left center field. He moved to third on an errant throw trying to pick him off of second. Dylan Anthony singled to left field to make it 5-3.
Peyton Wilson pitched two innings of hitless, shut out baseball, and Cy Putnam closed the door with a perfect seventh to get the save.
