Liberty Union gained its 7th win and 2nd conference win with a 5-1 victory over Circleville at Liberty Union Middle School on Wednesday night.

LU scored quickly 3 minutes into the game when sophomore Tyler Palmer tracked down a loose ball from a free kick and found the lower right corner of the net. However, Circleville would answer by earning a PK twenty minutes later which was finished by senior Dylan Burns to tie the game. LU would score shortly after with 12 minutes left in the half when junior Dylan Drass put back a rebound off Circleville’s GK for his first goal of the season.

Liberty Union would create several chances in the second half but Circleville would continue to hang in the game. Circleville’s freshman GK Nick Burns would end the game with 15 saves. Senior Carson Palmer would finally put the game away with 10 minutes remaining with a goal off a pass from freshman Matt Gygi. Carson Palmer would score again 4 minutes later, this time off an assist from senior Travis Wilson. The final goal of the game came from junior Tucker Meachem off an assist from Carson Palmer. Liberty Union freshman GK Jon Wheeler finished the game with 3 saves.

Liberty Union’s Senior Night will be this Saturday at noon against Fairfield Union at the Middle School Field.
