Lakewood High School-Hebron
Liberty Union High School
Liberty Union celebrated Youth Soccer Night with a 9-1 victory over Lakewood Saturday night at the Liberty Union High School Field.
Liberty Union started quickly scoring 20 seconds into the game when sophomore Jacob Fain put back a rebound off a shot from junior Carson Palmer. Palmer would then impressively score the next 4 goals for Liberty Union being assisted by sophomore Michael Wagner twice, sophomore Aaron Basso, and senior Will Pulvermacher. Lakewood’s lone goal would come in the first half on a nicely struck free kick by senior Frank Sines from 25 yards away.
Liberty Union would score four more times in the second half. Sophomore Tucker Meachem found the back of the net for the second straight game with a left footed strike from a pass by freshman Tyler Palmer. Tyler Palmer would also score his second goal of the season unassisted later in the half. Perhaps sibling rivalry kicked in because although being moved to sweeper, Carson Palmer would advance forward and score his 5th goal of the game. Pulvermacher added his second goal of the season late in the game to round out the scoring.
Liberty Union goalkeeper junior Dustin Lester earned his second straight win being credited with 3 saves. Lakewood’s Tanner Master was tested often and was credited with 18 saves including a PK stop.
Liberty Union will test their 3 game unbeaten streak on Wednesday as they take on Amanda Clearcreek at the Liberty Union High School field at 7:00.
