Liberty Union competed at the Columbus Academy Sectionals this past weekend, with the Lady Lions finishing 3rd out of 19 teams and the Boys finishing 2nd out of 13 teams. Taci Miller led the way for the girls, with 1st place finishes in the 200 free and 500 free, advancing to Districts at Ohio State. Logan Lawhorn won the 200 IM and finished 2nd in the 100 breast to also advance. Miller, Lawhorn, Kylee Arnold, and Devan Lewellan finished 2nd in the 200 Free Relay, and 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay to advance to Districts. Arnold also qualified for the Districts in the 100 fly and the 100 breast.
For the boys, advancing to districts were: Joey James in the 50 free (2nd) and the 500 free (2nd), Derek Burns in the 50 free and the 100 fly, Josh Weidner in the 200 free and 100 fly, Lonnie Lawhorn in the 200 IM and 100 breast, and Joshua Bowers in the 200 free. The 200 free relay and 400 relay teams of Weidner, Burns, James, and Lawhorn both finished 2nd to also advance to Districts.
